Hi my name is Karen Green preferrably known as Kaz and I own a very, very small Kennel called Hegestrauch Rottweilers. This Breed has owned me seriously since 1988. I live in Goulburn, NSW which is approx. 2 hrs South of Sydney.
I was allowed my very first Rottie in 1975 at the tender age of 17years old, however being from a 3000 hectare sheep and cattle farm in Gisborne, New Zealand, this dog had to be able to work. Ace was not from a registered Breeder as my father refused to pay the prices that were being asked back then and he was solely used when we were moving mobs of cows and calves and he would go in under the cows belly to move them along and then the calves would follow.
I then left school and started working and saved up for my first pedigreed registered dog. I also owned and Bred British Bulldogs from 1985 until 1992, moving to Australia in 1988 and coming to the realisation that Australia was not a country for this Breed.
After moving to Australia in 1988 with my then husband Edward, I was lucky enough to meet Veronica Bilney from Alemanni Rottweilers. Veronica and I used to travel from the Gold Coast to Brisbane twice a week to participate in Dogsport with Konig and Ike.
I purchased my first Brood Bitch off Sherri and Wayne Gilpin from Shrok in 1993 and commenced showing Shrok Extra Ynique (Eilke) . Eilke was mated to Steigen Hasso von Dazzy producing the very first Hegestrauch litter.
I belong to the Northern Districts Rottweiler Club of NSW, and was a past Secretary of the NRC(A).
The rest of my story can be seen in the pages of this web site.
